Quality manager Esro Food Group (EFG)

Esro Food Group is growing and expanding! To support our growth ambitions, we are looking to expand our quality team. As an ambitious Quality Manager Esro Food Group, you will have solid work experience, knowledge and expertise to grow with our organisation (internationally). Reporting to the Senior Manager Quality and Regulatory Affairs, you will initially focus on the operational quality work in Nuenen (Edible and Pet Food), where you will also be based.

Esro Food Group is also in the process of setting up new production sites internationally. These will come under the responsibility of the Esro Food Group Quality Manager later this year.

What does the job entail?

Together with the quality team, you will be the ambassador within our organisation for continuously strengthening the Esro quality culture. You will ensure that everyone knows what is expected in terms of quality and that the organisation operates in compliance with laws and regulations. You will set the quality policy for the organisation, be used to working to an annual plan and ensure that all the usual activities of a quality department are carried out. In short, a broad role that requires strategic thinking, tactical sparring and operational collaboration.

 

As quality manager EFG, what are you responsible for?

  • Monitoring and improving the quality of business processes and products;
  • Implementing quality and food safety systems and quality improvements;
  • Ensuring relevant certification, managing reports and the quality manual;
  • Monitoring the quality of incoming and outgoing goods (specification management);
  • Organising quality analysis and audits;
  • Preparing reports (with solutions for improvement following complaints and risks);
  • Liaise constructively with external stakeholders (key customers, government, certifiers);
  • Collaborate with internal departments and colleagues from production, procurement, operational excellence and the management team;
  • Supervising and managing the Quality Department (currently consisting of an Edible Quality Manager, a Pet Food Quality Manager and a QC Analyst).

 

What is important to do this job well?

  • HBO+ education, preferably in food technology, quality management/hygiene.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a QA environment in a food manufacturing company.
  • Ability to move between strategic, tactical and operational levels.
  • Solid personality with a commitment to quality and the ability to act as an ambassador.
  • Experience in leadership and project-based (collaborative) work.
  • Good communication skills in both Dutch and English.
  • Able to grow the organisation responsibly in terms of quality.
  • Willing to travel internationally approximately 10% of the time over time.
